Day 18 - Mon 05 Oct 2015

Home

Today we checked out, and made our way to the airport. As we had kids we checked in straight away. We were waiting in the airport terminal and they started the process of boarding so those with disablities and kids got moved into the tunnel ready to board. Then there was a delay. We waited in the tunnel. The airport/airline staff were waiting there as well. They played with Ashton and he loved it. One of the young guys would hold his arms out, and Ashton would run up to him and give him cuddles. Then he would run back to us. We eventually boarded, and home we are!

Day 17 - Sun 04 Oct 2015

KUALA LUMPUR PRB Darby Park Executive Suites

Today has been a fairly quiet and relaxing day. I took the kids down to the pool and Charli and Kobe made friends with some other people who spoke no English. It was interesting watching her interact with the other kids when they couldn't understand each other. Charli jumps in the pool and calls the way she jumps in a mermaid dive. She bends down  and points her arms towards the water, then straight up, back down, and then jumps. She was showing the other kids how to do it, and they would copy what she was doing. It was fun to see how they all interacted.

Day 16 - Sat 03 Oct 2015

KUALA LUMPUR PRB Darby Park Executive Suites

Today we went to Petrosains Childrens discovery center in KLCC. A childrens museum. The kids had a good time. While queueing up we took a few photos. The people behind us decided that if we were taking photos, it would make sense to put there little kid in it too. Just what we needed, photos of some kid we will never see again in our life in our photos. Sure, makes sense. After the museum we went to Cold Storage which is a supermarket in KLCC and bought 2 bottles of coke, a bottle of Ribena, a bottle of Milo and a bottle of water. It came to a total of $4.34 Australia. Gotta love the exchange rate.

Today Renee bought a pair of shoes. This doesn't seem very exciting, but with all the Nike tops that i have bought through our trip, Renee hasn't really spent any money on herself. She now owns a pair on Onitsuka Tiger shoes.

Day 15 - Fri 02 Oct 2015

KUALA LUMPUR PRB Darby Park Executive Suites

I found that Hotel Transylvania 2 was playing in the movies here, and it was in English. The kids love the first movie, so we thought it would be great to go and see it. We could have seen it at KLCC which is a couple of hundred metre walk, but decided to go to Movies at TGV Cinemas Sunway Pyramid. It was about 25 minutes away so we had to take a taxi. The reason we went here, is because we could see the movie in BeaniePlex. In short, beanbags and couches to see the movie. In total for the taxi to the shopping centre, tickets for all 5 of us, and taxi home it cost about $32 Australia. Cheaper than the price of tickets for us in Australia.

All movies should be like this..

We returned to the hotel room, and i went looking for somewhere for tea. I found a Red Lobster and thought it would be something different. We went there and had a nice tea. They worked for tips and the waiter was super friendly with Ashton. He gave him a little toy from Hotel Transylvania which is actually a McDonalds toy, but everytime he returned to the table Ashton would point at the toy and expected the waiter to wind it up and get it moving again. He did it everytime.

Day 14 - Thu 01 Oct 2015

KUALA LUMPUR PRB Darby Park Executive Suites

We checked out of our hotel, the horrible horrible hotel and got a taxi to our next room. The good thing about KL is its not expensive. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and it was one of the cheapest rooms of the holiday. Ashton today has conjuctivitis. I blame the horrible and dirty hotel. We went to several pharmacies and managed to find eye drops and cotton facial wipes. It cost a total of about $4 AUD for both the drops and wipes.

We spent time today at KLCC, and walked through the KL City Center Park. We went up to the Traders Hotel skybar and were going to have a drink, but the prices were to expensive for us. We came to Traders on our honeymoon, so it was nice to return with the whole family. Maybe next time everyone will be a bit older and everyone will be able to sit and enjoy the pool and the view.

I went to the supermarket and stocked up on things for our stay.

Day 13 - Wed 30 Sep 2015

KUALA LUMPUR Royale Bintang

We all got up in the morning and went to McDonalds just down the road and had breakfast. We then got a 24hr pass to the hop on hop off bus. We went around KL and got a taste of the city. We stopped at the Butterfly House and paid to go in and have a look. We continued on to KLCC and had some photos with the kids and got lunch at KLCC Food Court. We then all returned to hotel, and the Marders then collected their bags from our room and got a taxi to the airport to fly home. We had a quiet name and got KFC from just down the road for tea.

I think one of the highlights of the day for me was finding a Nike shirt with Kobe written on it. I had seen it online and had been looking everywhere for it. When i saw it in my size i didn't even look at the price. It had to be mine!

Day 12 - Tue 29 Sep 2015

KUALA LUMPUR Royale Bintang

We got up in the morning and had breakfast, then checked out of the hotel. We put our luggage into storage, and then went and spent the day in Legoland. Everyone had a ball. Rollercoasters, Lego, Lego and more lego.

During the day we had walked past a basketball game thing where you pay and if you get a goal you win a toy. THe kids wanted me to do it, but i said we can't do it. The prize was a huge Minion toy. Later in the day i was walking by myself and couldn't resist having a shot. I had just been on a ride that made my shirt wet so didn't have free motion in my arms. I paid the money to have 5 shots. Shot number 1 and it went in. Luckily for me i missed the next 4 shots. I took a Bob toy, and walked back to meet up with everyone else. As i walked up everyone looked up and saw what i had. Renee with a look of disgust, Ashton with the most excited look on his face i think i have ever seen leaning forward in his stroller with his arms outstretched wanting to grab and cuddle Bob. Charli and Kobe were also excited. But, nothing will surpass the look of excitement on Ashton's face.

We left the themepark about 5:30pm and went and collected our luggage. We went out to the bus station, and waited for our 4 hour bus ride to Kuala Lumpur. This is the bus ride we were must worried about when booking, but it turned out to be super easy. The bus was comfortable and the seats reclined. The kids eventually fell asleep on the bus. The Bus pulled into its final stop in Kualal Lumpur which was the hotel we had booked to stay the night due to pure convience. I carried Kobe off the bus and as he was asleep he was fairly adjataded. I checked into the hotel, with Kobe in my arms. We booked the hotel for 2 nights and each night having 2 rooms. It cost a total of about $135 AUD a night for the 2 rooms. We slept the night, but this is the most horrible hotel we have stayed in. It was dirty, the hotel room smelt and the baby cot mattress seemed to be a pile of blankets folded up.

2 sleeping boys on the night bus..
One of the things which is hindering our ability to do things in KL is the haze. Its unhealthy and you feel it when you are outside. Due to this we are trying to limit our time outside. School has been cancelled, the KL marathon has been cancelled so its not exactly fun.
