Day 2 - Sat 19 Sep 2015
HONG KONG Holiday Inn Golden Mile
We all woke up after a great nights sleep. We all needed it. With the 3 kids to look after on the plane Renee and I got very little sleep. We may have dozed here and there, but not much else. I think i still manage to sleep holding Ashton, but i dont think Renee did. I went for a walk to the local 7-Eleven and bought some milk and drinks etc. Went back and we gave the kids some weetbix (brought from home) and milk, and juice for breakfast. After breakfast, it was time for another swim. This time it was only me and the kids that swam with Renee already having showered and getting dressed for the day before the decision was made. We swam for a while, took a few more photos and then went back and got dressed for the day. It was great to see smiles on peoples faces as opposed to blank lifeless looks from yesterday afternoon. Overnight Kobe lost a tooth so was very excited. Tooth number one. Hopefully the Tooth Fairy finds him here.
We checked out, and then got on the free hotel shuttle bus that took us right to the centre of Kowloon. On the short bus ride both Kobe and Ashton fell asleep. We had to wake Kobe to get off the bus, and Ashton we move off the bus and into the stroller. He woke shortly after that as we walked the 1 block to get to our next hotel we have for the next 4 nights, the Holiday Inn Golden Mile. We dropped the bags off and then went walking as the room wasn't ready. Kids were hungry so we stopped quickly and got McDonalds. After that we walked down towards Avenue of Stars on the water, and then walked along the waters edge until we were around near the terminal shopping center. What looks to be a pier for huge cruise ships, has also been turned into a huge shopping mall. I have never seen so many kids clothes shops. Dior, Gucci, Blueberry, etc all having kids only shops. The kids certainly enjoyed the Toys R Us shop there. Lots of lego and toys that kept their interest. While they looked at their stuff, i admired the NBA collectible dolls. I say dolls, but they are certainly not toys. I had looked at the Michael Jordan foot high doll previously, but at about $400-$500 Australian each, i think i will continue to look. Maybe when i win Tattslotto i will buy one. As we were leaving Ashton fell asleep, again.

From here we walked back to the hotel as it was close to check-in time. With our checkin we got complimentary drinks so we all sat and had a nice cold drink. We got our key and went to our room. It is a pretty small room, with 2 double beds and just enough room for a cot. Our bags got brought straight up to our room and the cot arrived shortly after. At this point Ashton was still asleep. The lady who brought the portacot was a little abrupt and banged the furniture out of the way to make room for the portacot, including moving the stroller Ashton was sleeping in. While he needed to wake, i found that a little interesting.

Shortly after we all went to the supermarket to purchase a few things we need for the coming days. Its handy having a supermarket directly across the road. I was surprised by how many similar items there are in supermarkets here to home. We went back to the room and had a relax before having our tea.
The hotel has a buffet restaurant that we decided would be good for tonight. While Charli turned 7 a week or two again we told her for the night she was 6. 6 and under were free. Upon telling her, she wanted to know whether she had to bend down at all so she looked shorter. We told her she was only 6 a couple of weeks ago, and she really hadn't grown at all since then so she would be fine.
We sat down at our table and they had a plastic bowl, fork, spoon, etc for Ashton. Within about a minute of being there, Ashton picked up his plastic spoon at full force threw it across the table. It was thrown with such force that it hit one of the glasses full of water on the table and it smashed. After that initial hiccup, we ended up having a great feed. I hate a cheap buffet, but love a good one, and this was definitely good. I think Kobe enjoyed his Haagen Dais ice cream and M&Ms on top for dessert, while Charli seemed to polish off a lot of pappadoms and Naan bread. Renee enjoyed eating Lobster and I think i just about had a little bit of everything.
After tea it was back to the room, a quick bath and then to bed. Ashton is asleep in the cot, and Kobe and Charli each asleep in one of the double beds. Apparently i'm sleeping with Kobe tonight which is a good thing. Kobe doesn't move. Charli is a bed hog. I can see tomorrow morning i will wake up all happy and refreshed, and Renee will wake up saying 'Never again'.
