Day 6 - Wed 23 Sep 2015
MACAU Sheraton
Today was the day we had to checkout and move onto our next destination. Our hotel was about 750 metres from the Ferry station where we were catching the Ferry to Macau. We decided we would walk it as it was a fairly easy walk.
We checked out of the hotel and walked over to the Ferry station. They have ferries leaving every 30 minutes so they try and fill the earlier ferries. We arrived and they hurried us to try and get onto the Ferry that left in about 15 minutes. We went to purchase tickets and when they saw my credit card, they took me aside and walked me over to the ticket desk. Paid for the tickets, and went back to where you checkin. We lined up and went to check in, and they looked at our luggage and said we needed to pay extra to take the luggage. Opened my wallet and i had basically nothing left. I had run everything down so we wouldn't waste or need to convert money. So i ran up the escalator and had to withdraw money, then run back and pay to get our luggage through. Finally got through and onto the Ferry. After all the running it was great to be able to sit and relax.

Ferry ride was about 1 hour and took us straight to Macau. After finally getting through we had to find out hotel bus. All the hotels had shuttle buses that took people and possible gambling customers to their hotel. We got onto our bus and it took us to our hotel. We stayed at Sheraton in Macau, and this was a fairly nice and unique hotel for us. They have converted adjoining rooms, and made them family rooms. One side has a King bed, while the other has bunks, gaming console, table and chairs for kids. The kids loved it. The hotel is affiliated with Dreamworks so the room was Shrek themed.
Part of the hotel was a breakfast restaurant/package called Shrekfast. A Dreamworks inspired breakfast where the characters come and you get your photo taken with them. We paid for and organised for Shrekfast for tomorrow.
From our hotel there was a direct walkway that connected us to the Venetian Hotel. It is the biggest building in the world based on floorspace, land, etc, etc. It's huge. The shopping center has over 650 stores and is setup to look like Venice. Venetian in Vegas has 1 canal through it, this one has 3 canals. We walked through exploring all the shops. Not surprisingly I found a Nike store. Surprisingly though, we bought several things at the shop and none of them were for me. As we walked around one thing became obviously clear. Charli, Kobe and Ashton were treated like rockstars. We couldn't stand still without people wanting to get photos taken with them. We stopped in the St Marks Square and what looked like a tour group of 5 or 6 ladies came up to Charli. One by one they had a photo with her, and gave her a cuddle.
